``We're here for more than HVAC``
At Nelson & Company, it’s more than just business. We care about the community we serve. We find ways to give back that are meaningful and truly make an impact on the individual lives of the North Florida community. Here are a few of the activities we take part in to make Jacksonville a better place.
Robotics World Competition 2023
Nelson & Company supports innovation and education in the fields of engineering. As part of this support, each year we sponsor a US-based team for The Robotic World Competition. The 2023 VEX IQ season started with 8000 teams from 70+ countries and only 800 teams made it to Worlds. The 800 teams were divided into 10 divisions of 80 teams each. Just the first place of each division went to the World final.
ReThreaded Volunteering
This is the Nelson and Company volunteering for the ReThreaded organization. The organization provided some training on human trafficking, shared the vision for their gorgeous mural, and then put us to work prepping leather that was donated by Southwest Airlines to produce their leather products. We were led by Stephanie and Shirley. It was an excellent day and a chance to learn more about the realities of human trafficking.
ReThreaded 2022
Each year Nelson & Company hosts a December shopping event for ReThreaded, an organization dedicated to ending human trafficking. Erika Nelson is a member of ReThreaded’s Circle of Sisters and the proceeds from this annual event go toward the recovery process, and skills training for every victim of human trafficking. The event features goods created by victims as well as product partners who are supportive of this mission. This is the pop-up shop from our December 2022 event.
